🎶 South Hills Middle School Performing Arts Boosters (PAB)

Who We Are

The SHMS Performing Arts Boosters (PAB) is a non-profit group of parents and guardians who support our school’s band, orchestra, and choir programs. The Boosters focus exclusively on raising money, organizing volunteers, and enhancing the performing arts experience for all students.

What We Support

Thanks to family and community support, PAB helps fund and organize:

  • 6th grade field trip to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra
  • 7th grade Domination Tour – buses for visits to elementary schools
  • Pajama Jammin’ & lock-ins for band, choir, and orchestra
  • Professional mentors for Solo & Ensemble prep
  • Flowers, hot cocoa at concerts, pizza on half days.
  • Performance polo shirts for students in need

How Families Can Get Involved

Volunteering is easy and fun—and your child will be proud to see you helping! Most opportunities take place before or after concerts you’re already attending.

Ways to help:

  • Sell fundraising items at performances
  • Help with event setup/cleanup
  • Join a committee (fundraising, hospitality, communications, etc.)
  • Share your professional skills (graphic design, photography, digital help, etc.)

Time Commitment

  • 1–2 hours per month: Attend a virtual meeting + volunteer at performances
  • Board Roles: \~2 hours per month during the school year to keep things running smoothly
